Heading away from the show for a little step back Heading away from the show for a little step back in time… off to Versailles! Today we are sneaking away from the buzz of Paris to visit the magnificent Palace of Versailles—my first return since an unforgettable trip years ago. Back then, I went with the owner of Devica ; owner of Diva Lingerie and a wonderful agent from Western Canada ; Betty Jacobs, and the three of us made a grand little adventure of it. We stayed at the beautiful Le Trianon Palace Hotel (now the Waldorf Astoria), just steps from the palace grounds. I still remember walking into those endless gardens for the first time—so vast, so opulent, with golden fountains, sweeping pathways, and more beauty than you can take in at once. Of course, all that walking requires a proper pause—lunch at a little café tucked into the forest, followed by a nostalgic stop back at Le Trianon. Sadly, no Gordon Ramsay sightings at his restaurant that day!

Fun side story from the Paris lingerie show! Over Fun side story from the Paris lingerie show! Over dinner at a cozy bistro last night, we found ourselves seated beside a wonderful couple from Venice, Italy. She turned out to be a retired national basketball player who now designs and manufactures her own brand, Zenobia Italia. One conversation led to another, and we ended up lingering long after dessert, sharing stories and drinks together. By morning my curiosity was in full swing, so I went to visit her stand—just one floor above the lingerie hall. There I discovered her magnificent collection of custom Italian made wool coats and elegant lingerie kimonos. What a beautiful brand with an equally fascinating story. They even invited us to visit them in Venice- where we noted they have a chain of their own stores! Proof that the best moments at trade shows often happen off the show floor.
